10 CANDY TYPICAL TRADITIONAL COUNTRIES (PART 3)

Okay guys!!!
I will continue my blog last week.
Now, I will explain about Gummy Bear, from German.

This candy is a forerunner to the various forms of candy 'sticky gelatin' is popular in many countries! soft candy was invented by Hans Riegel of Bonn in Germany in 1922.
This colorful little si originally named Gummibar or gummibarchen which in English became Gummy Bear.
This candy fame reached the United States.
There Gummy Bear has 5 distinctive flavors. the raspberries (red), orange (orange), strawberry (green), pineapple and lemon (yellow).

And the health issues about Gummy Bear are :

Gummy bears ordinarily contain mostly empty calories, but recently gummy bears containing vitamin C, produced by manufacturers such as Sconza or Bear Essentials, are being marketed to parents of young children.
Multivitamins have also been produced in the form of gummi bears to motivate consumption by young, picky eaters.

Gummy bears, and other gummy candy, stick to teeth and may cause tooth decay.

However, gummy bears containing the cavity-fighting additive xylitol (wood sugar) are now being tested.
Trolli has developed a line of gummy candy which is proved to help the immune system and teeth; the acti-line.

There has been concern that gelatin in most gummy bears may harbor prions, particularly those that cause bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) in cattle and new-variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in humans.

Based on studies, the United States FDA and other national organizations and countries consider the risk of BSE transmission through gelatin to be minuscule as long as precautions are followed during manufacturing.

And now I will explain about candy from Japan named AME.

It is originally from Kyoto, Japan.
Japanese traditional sweets very famous beautiful and colorful and wrapped in a pretty place too.
This candies are made from pure sugar with a genuine sense of sugar, but there are also some that have a fresh fruit flavors.
Kyoto is famous for its beautiful handicrafts both in terms of food and other things.
But every other area also have their own distinctive candy like from Tokyo or Osaka.

Then, I will explain about BRIGADEIRO, from Brazil.
First, I will explain the history and then, I will explain about the candy.

Eduardo Gomes was a Brazilian Air Force brigadier who later ran unsuccessfully for the presidency in 1946 and 1950. This was a time of shortage of traditional imports such as nuts and fruits because of the war. But, at the same time, Nestlé was introducing its brand of chocolate powder and condensed milk (known in Switzerland as Milch Mädchen) into the country.

Brigadeiro is a simple Brazilian chocolate bonbon, created in the 1940s and named after Brigadier Eduardo Gomes, whose shape is reminiscent of that of some varieties of chocolate truffles.
It is a very popular candy in Brazil and in Portugal and it is usually served at birthday parties, and also as dessert.

The candy is made by mixing sweetened condensed milk, butter and chocolate powder together.

The mixture is then heated in a pan on the stove or in a microwave oven to obtain a smooth, sticky texture.
It is usually rolled into balls which are covered in granulated chocolate, that is the way brigadeiros are served at children's birthday parties.
It can also be consumed unrolled, with a spoon or used as a topping or filling for cakes, brownies and other pastries.

Beijinho is a variation that is often served together with brigadeiros at parties, and is prepared with grated coconut instead of chocolate powder.

Although Brazil is a major producer of cocoa beans, it is believed that the creation and success of the truffle was a combination of opportunities.

The multinational corporation Nestlé, which introduced chocolate powder and condensed milk, the creators who named it after the famous politician, the need to find a replacement to imported sweets; and its ease of manufacture.

It's all about my blog this week.
Next week I will continue.
Hope you like it :).
